In order to
marry in Cyprus, the following documentation is
required before a marriage license can be issued.
We recommend that this section should read
carefully and printed off as the following contains
important information on rules and regulations which
the bride and groom must follow before a licence of
marriage can be issued.
All documentation MUST BE ORIGINAL (photocopies are
not accepted)
If you are a British national and single you you
require a certificate from a solicitor of your
country confirming you are free to marry. This
document must not be more than 6 months old and must
bear the solicitor's official stamp.
Irish Citizens require a Freedom to Marry
Certificate which is obtained from the Department of
Foreign affairs in Ireland or the Irish Embassy in
the United Kingdom.
Birth certificates.
10 Year passport with at least 6 months validity
remaining before departure date.
Adoption certificate, if applicable.
Decree of absolute if divorced.
Death certificate (in the case of widows or
widowers).
If either partner are under the legal age of consent
(18 years) a written consent is required from a
solicitor on behalf of the parent(s).
Baptism or Christening certificate of either one or
both of the parties to be obtained (applicable for
church ceremonies only).
For Church ceremonies the name and the address of
the couples home Church Minister/Priest is required.
Please be aware that the wedding licence takes 4
working days to obtain, therefore, allow for this
time period before the Wedding date.
Wedding Licence fees is Cyprus Pounds (£165CYP) ,
(€281.92) and must be paid in full on
the day of registry at the Town Hall. (See Ceremony

Passport numbers of two witnesses.
Two witnesses will be required in accordance to
Cypriot Law. Cyprus Weddings Belles would be happy to provide two
witnesses if necessary.
